Hawaii Food Bank

The Hawai‘i Foodbank has kicked off its Annual State Employees Food Drive, which runs through May 19, 2017. Each year the University of Hawai‘i ‘ohana comes together to support the Hawai‘i Foodbank Drive. The University of Hawai‘i is proud to continue its support that helps to serve Hawai‘i’s needy, including nearly 50,000 children, 46,000 elderly, plus homeless, disabled and working poor families, and others needing temporary assistance.

The goal for Kapi‘olani CC is to raise 600 pounds of food and $650 in monetary contributions. That’s more than twice of what was collected last year.  Come on KCC ‘ohana, let’s do our share by showing our Aloha to the Hawai‘i Foodbank!!!

The top 5 most wanted items are canned meats/tuna, canned meals, canned vegetable/fruits, rice and monetary contributions. We will be accepting food and monetary donations up until Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

For those of you who would like to contribute a monetary donation, please see Mirriam Awong in ‘Ilima 205 or Jamie Miyashiro in ‘Ilima 212.

Chancellor Pagotto will generously donate a Pizza Party to the department that collects the most food items (by weight) and monetary contributions.

Mahalo from your 2017 Kapi’olani CC Foodbank Coordinators, Mirriam Awong and Jamie Miyashiro
